I made my artwork because I wanted to express my creativity and my childlike imagination. Ever since I was young I saw my imagination as some type of gift not many people have, as I’ve gotten older I realized that it truly was a gift and that most teenagers my age never had it or lost their imagination. My artwork is pinch pots that I turned into alien creatures, using the score and slip techniques to add certain body parts like eyeballs, tails, teeth, and, tongues. Another object I used to add detail to my work is a needle tool to help carve certain details to my work and make it seem more realistic. For the colors I chose to glaze it with, I tried to choose colors that would stand out and tried choosing colors that would fit the description of a monster or alien. I had a blast making this as it brought me back to my roots and my childhood, making me laugh and giggle throughout the whole process.
